
This route runs through a black pine (Pinus uncinata) on both sides of the path.
Black pine is a tree characteristic of the high mountains, it has abundant and more or less regular fruiting and it maintains the seeds in the pineapples until the following year, thus acting as a food reserve.
This has allowed the red crossbil (Loxia curvirostra) to develop abundant populations and sedentary habits in these forests.
